Westwell - Property Photos

Tree plantings (October 2004)

We planted 560 trees so far. 160 Eucalyptus, 40 Casaurina, 140 Wattles, 120 Tea tree, 40 Bottlebrush and 40 Hakea.

The hill top is the start of our woodlot and each year I should plant another hundred trees down the southern slope of the hill until the entire slope is planted.

There are another 25 Cypress trees to be planted on the ridge top as a windbreak.

The watercourse in the rear half of the property will also be planted with willows in the future. The western boundary near the front dam will also get 25 poplar plantings soon.

Aerial View of property

Aerial View of property with boundary drawn in by pen to make obvious (taken Sept. 2002). The complete photo shows the southern dam (shown on the right here) is on a natural watercourse. The northern dam should possibly be better positioned near the intersection of fences wit the two little trees seen in the middle of the northern half.

N.B. When I mention halves, this is not necessarily accurate. I divide the property by the ridge that divides the property. This corresponds to the dog leg bend that you can see in the aerial photo.
